Restaurant Le Coccole dellAmorosa
Charming, country style restaurant, this elegant and, at the same time, informal eatery opened in 1971, in what were once the Locanda's medieval stables, the careful conversion of which has both preserved and enhanced the centuries-old features of the original building.
Le Coccole dell'Amorosa's delicious Italian cuisine is inspired by both Tuscan and Mediterranean culinary traditions. Chef employs the products of the land with dexterity and passion, creating delicious seasonal dishes with Tuscany's world famous cured meats, Chianina beef, Cinta Senese and Grigio del Casentino pork, free range poultry, the cheeses of Pienza, and the vegetables and aromatic herbs grown in the Amorosa's kitchen garden.
Whenever possible we use locally sourced, organically grown ingredients. Particular attention is given to the quality of the fish, caught in the sea surrounding the Pontine islands.
Restaurant Le Coccole dell'Amorosa's well-researched wine list features labels from the best Italian wine producing regions. Not surprisingly, Tuscan wines dominate the selection, amongst which we find the Amorosa's own, much acclaimed, 'Borgo Amorosa'.
The aromatic herbs used in the our cuisine are grown in the kitchen garden, as are great part of the vegetables.
Wine and vineyard
Our "Borgo Amorosa" wine, is a robust and full bodied red made with San Giovese grapes.
Using the fruit from our olive trees we produce sufficient organic extra virgin olive oil to satisfy the requirements of the restaurant.
